Introductiontraining Femap with NX Nastran

This course is designed for those who want to start making finite element calculations with Femap with NX Nastran.

Target group: Engineers and designers who want to apply the finite element method independently. Prior knowledge or experience with the finite element method is not necessary to be able to follow this course.
Duration: 4 days.
Goal: To get familiar with the background of the finite element method and the use of Femap with NX Nastran. After the training, the trainee is capable of independent finite element analysis and to evaluate the results.
Contents: Based on examples and the use of your own models, the theory of the finite element method and use of Femap is explained.

Femap Basic Non Linear

Many problems have not only described by linear analysis. In the basic version of Femap with NX Nastran is a nonlinear solver that simple non linear problems can be described.

Target group: Users who are experienced in the use of linear finite element calculations and their knowledge of non-linear calculations to expand.
Duration: 1 day.
Goal: The student familiar with learning to recognize non-linear situations and correct fitting of non-linear calculations, interprets the measured results.
Contents: Based on sample sums and took along the non-linear models will use Femap explained

Refresher course Femap with NX Nastran

This course is designed for those who have some time to work with Femap, and their knowledge about using the software and want to deepen.

Target group: Engineers and designers who want to apply finite element method independently. Prior knowledge or experience with the use of Femap and the finite element method is needed to facilitate this course.
Duration: 1 day.
Goal: The user familiar with the new features within Femap with NX Nastran over the years have been introduced.
Contents: Based on sample amounts, the use of the new features within Femap explained.

Femap Advanced Non-Linear

Many problems in practice behave non-linearly. To calculate this type of problem are non-linear finite element calculations.

Target group: Users who are experienced in the use of linear finite element calculations and their knowledge of non-linear calculations to expand and have access to the Femap Advanced Non-linear module.
Duration: 2 days.
Goal: The student familiar with the setting up of non-linear calculations, interprets the measured results.
Contents: Based on sample sums and took along the non-linear models will use Femap explained.

Strength and stiffness calculations with plastics

At Femto we see a growing demand for finite element analysis for injection molded / blow-molded / rotation-molded products. All these producs have in common that they are being made from thermoplastic material. In order to correctly perform finite element analyses for these products one has to understand the material properties of the material and how these material properties influence the analysis.
Therefor we decided to develop a new 2-day course where our insights of Finite Element Analysis with thermoplastic material will be explained in detail.

Duration: 2 days.
Contents: In the course the following themes will be discussed: Difference between linear and non-linear material and geometrical behavior, behavior of plastics when they are exposed to elevated temperatures and/or longer load durations, finding correct material models and how to interpret and to use them, building Finite Element Meshes for plastic calculations and why it is necessary to give attention to this and how to interpret results and how to report these.
During the course a lot of attention will be given to practical and real-world problems and the theory will be put into praxis with relevant exercises.

Femap API Programming

A particularly powerful feature of Femap is that this program can be controlled by self-written Visual Basic algorithms. This makes it possible to automate certain tasks.

Target group: Users who have experience with Femap with NX Nastran and Femap capabilities to fully exploit the program to send self written programs. Some experience in programming is required for this course.
Duration: 3 days.
Goal: The student familiar with managing Femap and automate tasks through API programming for Femap.
Contents: By means of examples the use of API programming explained.
